Route Description
The ride begins in Stresa, following the lakeside road towards Feriolo before reaching the Fondotoce Nature Reserve.
After passing the Camping Isolino, the route leaves the main road and follows a gravel trail towards Montorfano, eventually climbing to the historic Cadorna Line, an extensive system of military fortifications built during the First World War to defend Italy's northern frontier.
The climb continues steadily through woodland, passing beautifully preserved stone barracks, defensive positions and the former ammunition depot, all carefully integrated into the natural landscape.
After reaching the highest point, descend along the same track before completing the circuit around Montorfano and returning to Stresa via Fondotoce and the cycle path.
